150 Glimpses of the Beatles Customer Reviews
:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Robert Moody -- BE The Beatles : By no means am I a Beatles expert, but over the past fifty years I can confidently claim to have spent more time reading about them and speaking with people who were involved in their success, both in the UK and USA, than most fans. So the number of "glimpses" in this book that were new to me - or which corrected or expanded on familiar stories - came as a delightful surprise. Many of us can relate to Bruce Springsteen's remark, quoted in this book, that "I didn't want to meet the Beatles. I wanted to be the Beatles." Those of us, unlike The Boss, who were not touched by genius can get a fresh look at what that would have been like. As we face a pandemic winter, this wonderful book arrived at the perfect time. I can't imagine a better gift for any Beatles fan. ( Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2020 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from George J. Haberberger -- Part history, part tell-all, part slice-of-life, all intriguing. : 150 Glimpses of the Beatles. ( Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2020 )
- 2.0 out of 5 stars from skybox -- BORING even for a fanatic Beatles fan : I love the Beatles. Saw them in concert in 1965, saw concerts by John and also by Paul since. Was at a performance by YOKO at Kenny's Castways club in NYC and met her at one of her art exhibitions in NY later. I've read numerous books about the Beatles (best SHOUT by Philip Norman), never tired of them. ( Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2020 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Paul Wetor -- Well-Researched With Highlights And Social Insights : Despite having a ton of Beatle books, I couldn't resist this one, nor should you. The randomness of the stories is implied by the title. What I found most interesting is the social background. The author describes John's middle-class upbringing, and how the Beatles upended the British class system. Some might find that boring, but I like knowing the greater context of history. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Washington B. Filho -- A must be read Beatles book : The book is giving MUCH more than what I paid for. A must be read by those that are at least fond of the group. I missed more pictures for sure but then the already thick book (almost 600 pages) would be impossible to hold. Very nice and interesting (so far) little stories on them. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from C. Rachel -- Does not get any better : I have read most of the Beatles books but this one takes the cake, in fact it is the icing as well. Recaps history from personal perspectives. Gets the reader on site with the lads like nothing else. Best yet. ( Reviewed in the United States on November 11, 2020 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Leeanne -- Great gift for an avid Beatles fan. : I needed a gift for a Beatles fan they did not already have. So happy to find. Even better was the price. Christmas for son’s GF....check! ( Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2020 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from RICHARD BRACEWELL -- Great read, but DO NOT need two copies. : If you have bought the excellent Craig Brown book, " ONE,TWO,THREE,FOUR ", then DO NOT buy this title as it is the American version and is identical in text and photography. I think that AMAZON should point this out ! ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 23, 2020 )
( Reviewed in Mexico on June 23, 2021 )

- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Telfer Wegg -- Interesting snippets of info. : Good read that doesn't need to be continuous. ( Reviewed in Canada on January 28, 2021 )
